Mother Smith's Chop Suey Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 (2 lb.) can La Choy Chop Suey vegetables
  • 1 c. diced onions
  • 1 c. diced carrots
  • 1 c. diced celery
  • 1 c. mushrooms
  • 2 c. bean sprouts
  • 1 pkg. frozen pea pods
  • Soy sauce
  • Vinegar or lemon juice
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Cooking oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Onion powder
  • Garlic powder
  • Celery seed
  • Ginger
Directions:

Brown meat in cooking oil; add vegetables. Cover freely with Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce. Add seasonings freely. Add 3 tablespoons of vinegar or lemon juice. Simmer about half hour after reaching a quick boil. Add pea pods that have been cooked for 2 minutes. Stir them into the main dish and it is ready to serve.
