- 90 grams butter (salted)
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 120 grams Flour
- Melted Chocolate of your choice
- 1 piece Egg yolk
On a clean table, spread the flour in a small circle. Place butter, egg yolk and vanilla extract in the centre and work the mixture into a dough with your fingers until smooth.
Gather up into a ball and refrigerate for half an hour. Flour the table lightly and roll the pastry out until about 4-5mm thick. Cut hearts and stars with a pastry cutter, place on a baking tray and chill for about 15 minutes.
Cook in a pre-heated 180°C oven for 15 minutes until golden brown. When cool, brush each cookie with melted chocolate and dry on a cake rack before storing in an air-tight container.
