- 2 lbs. ground meat
- 1 slightly beaten egg
- 1 lg. onion, grated
- 1/2 c. olive oil
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- Juice of 2-3 lemons
- 1 c. boiling water
- 3 tbsp. butter
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 tsp. dill weed
- 1 tbsp. parsley flakes
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 c. rice
- 1 jar grape leaves
Meat mixture: Mix raw meat with seasonings, rice, and onions. (Brown onions in butter first.) Rinse grape leaves. Make 1-teaspoon-sized meatballs and wrap with grape leaves. Secure and place in chafing dish (trim off excess grape leaf if needed). Pour oil mixture and boiling water over wrapped meatballs and bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
